                      3) Express/Overnight Delivery Service 

                      4) Same Manner as a "Summons Complaint 

                           in Civil Action"

  Relationship:  The claimant must describe their 

  relationship to the property owner such as  

  1) direct contractor,  2) sub-contractor,  

  3) material supplier,  4) equipment rental,  5) other

 Relationship:  No relationship needed to be listed.




 "Direct Contractor" - contractor who has a contract 

  directly with the property or project owner.

 "Prime or Original Contractor" - contractor who has a

 contract directly with the property or project owner .

 Must show an estimate of the $ amount.

 Did not have to show an estimate of the $ amount.

 If serving the pre-lien via USPS mail or express delivery

 - must be mailed no later than 20 days from the 1st day

 you are on the project, however, unclear language

 used in Civil Code 8116 & 1013 make it seem best to

 serve (mail) the pre-lien no later than 15 days from the

 1st day on the job if you are mailing via USPS or no

 later than 18 days from the 1st day on the job if you are

 mailing via an express delivery service.

 If serving by USPS Mail - must be mailed no later than

 20 days from the 1st day you are on the project.
